SENSOR Processor GF lens
Enjoy unparalleled control over the images created by the 102MP ultra-high resolution imaging sensor at the heart of GFX100S and use its unmatched flexibility to create the images that you have always dreamed of, down to the smallest of details. Using a back-illuminated design that – along with its family of GF lenses – optimizes light capture for every image at each one of its 102 million pixels, the full majesty of this camera is truly realized once the image data is passed through the quad-core X-Processor 4 imaging engine. This is what ultimately delivers the unsurpassed image quality and outstanding color reproduction that has now become synonymous with Fujifilm.

Use GFX100S to create remarkably detailed images that reach further and deeper into scenes to reveal amazing color fidelity and rich shadow detail, all with enough dynamic range to allow for astonishing push and pull adjustments in post-production. It’s time to start telling stories in a whole new way by creating images with a level of detail that’s hard to imagine is possible.

Portrait perfection is within reach. Enjoy the unique look of large format by combining GFX100S with fast aperture GF lenses to selectively focus and achieve outstanding background separation and creamy transitions. What’s in focus is supremely sharp and what isn’t falls off into a pleasing smoothness that gives a beautiful overall effect to the image.

More Colors on Display

Experience unparalleled color accuracy thanks to GFX100S’s ability to output 16-bit images. Almost imperceptible shifts in color tones are recorded by the camera’s large format sensor and delivered in incredible true-to-life images with up to 281 trillion colors all on display.

True Flexibility in the Field

Whether you are scrambling after a couple to frame their perfect moment or trekking through the wilderness to document nature’s biggest secrets, rest assured that GFX100S has your back when you get there. Its compact size and powerful in-body image stabilization (IBIS) will help make handheld images pin-sharp, while a cutting-edge focus algorithm and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) pixels across the entire frame deliver fast and accurate autofocus. Be confident that you’ll never miss the moment, no matter how fleeting it may be.

Compact and Comfortable

With GFX100S, there are no compromises, not even with weight. At just 900g (1.98lbs), it’s compact enough to carry with you wherever you go and with its secure grip and ergonomic button and dial layout, comfortable in-hand to let you focus on making your best images.

Create with Confidence

Despite it being almost twice the physical size of any full-frame imaging sensor, GFX100S houses its 102MP Bayer array inside of a compact, weather-resistant camera body that is smaller in size to some Full Frame cameras. It also some how does this with enough room left over to pack in a five-axis image stabilization system that provides up to six stops of vibration compensation*2. It’s time to move away from the tripod, have the confidence to work handheld in large format, and be safe in the knowledge that the results will be as sharp and detailed as they would be if the camera were locked and stationary on a support.

Focus for any Occasion

GFX100S redefines what is possible in terms of autofocus speed and accuracy for large format cameras. With highly accurate phase detection pixels across approximately 100% of the frame, reliable Face/Eye detection, responsive subject tracking for moving subjects, and incredible low-light focusing capabilities, this is truly a camera for any focusing occasion.

Intuitive and Familiar

Custom position

At roughly the same physical size as some full-frame cameras, but with a 102MP imaging sensor twice as large in physical size, GFX100S breaks from large format convention with a wonderfully approachable and intuitive design. In addition to the deliberate ergonomic choices to prioritize in-hand comfort, the camera also blends a top-plate PASM dial with customizable function (Fn) buttons, which will make it familiar to both new and existing X Series users. Simply customize the camera’s buttons and dials to your liking and then move on to create your next amazing image.

More than Just Stills

  • 43.8×32.9mm SENSOR
  • 4K/30P
  • 10-BIT COLOR
  • F-LOG CAPTURE

GFX100S isn’t just a remarkable machine for stills photographers, it offers broadcast-quality video capture, too, making it a truly multifaceted marvel. Record up to 4K/30p footage in 10-bit F-Log or 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW, with an incredibly beautiful depth-of-field, for a look that is made for the silver screen.

Face/Eye Detection AF

GFX100S uses an advanced Face and Eye Detection autofocus algorithm to ensure portrait images are perfectly in focus, even when using wide apertures to create images with shallow depth-of-field.
For ultimate precision, use Eye Detecion AF and prioritize which eye to focus on, or use Face Detection AF in combination with GFX100S’s touchscreen or Focus Lever to select, track, and perfectly expose one face in a crowd of people.

Autofocus in the Dark

Combine GFX100S with GF80mmF1.7 R WR and achieve focus in light levels as low as -5.5EV through the camera’s phase detection autofocus pixels, which deliver fast and accurate AF performance reliably.

Equipped with GF80mmF1.7 R WR

Autofocus Tracking

A revised focusing algorithm means GFX100S can easily stay focussed on a moving subject. Simply align the focusing point over the subject and wide/tracking mode will ensure subjects stay sharp as they move around the frame.

Focus Bracketing

Go beyond the capabilities of conventional aperture settings and get complete sharpness with GFX100S’s focus bracketing mode. Ideal for studio-based static subjects in consistent lighting, simply specifiy the nearest and furthest points you want in focus, then leave the camera to determine the number of frames and steps required.

More Resolution

With 102MP of resolution packed into its 44mm x 33mm imaging sensor, GFX100S is perfectly equipped to provide superior detail in any image or piece of video footage. However, this would not be possible without the resolving power of FUJINON G Mount lenses. Leveraging decades of experience in creating broadcast optics, it’s this combination of our optics and sensor technology that will set your images apart. From the eyelashes in a portrait to the delicate blades of grass in an incredible landscape, GFX100S is with you to frame every detail.

Pixel Shift Multi Shot
When nothing but the best will do, GFX100S rises to the challenge. Its Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function combines 16 RAW files to create a single 400MP image that reproduces the finest details with ultimate color accuracy. Images are created by moving the imaging sensor to record red, green and blue data from every pixel. This process results in unparalleled color reproduction, minimal false colors, and is perfect for archiving works of art, preserving cultural assets, or for any application that requires immense color fidelity and sumptuous detail.

More Bokeh

Set your portrait photography apart from full-frame users by making the move to large format and combining GFX100S with GF80mmF1.7 R WR or GF110mmF2 R LM WR to produce images that have a unique look.
Unmatched in how these combinations separate their subjects from their backgrounds and create an almost three-dimensional quality to the image, full-frame users will be hard-pressed to create images of the same aesthetic quality. This is mostly because of the relationship that exists between the focal length and how its field of view is reproduced on a large format sensor. Large format images just naturally create images with more compression and separation, which is why there is simply no replacement for GFX100S and either one of its portrait lenses.

More Tone

GFX100S delivers wonderfully smooth tones with incredibly subtle color gradations, thanks to advanced sensor technologies that produce exceptional results. This is not only a result of the sensor’s overall resolution, but also because it incorporates a back-illuminated design, which allows light to hit the sensor more directly to produce images with more detail and less overall noise. Combine this with GFX100S’s ability to record 16-bit RAW and TIFF files and it’s no wonder why it’s the perfect choice for photographers who demand perfection.

Film Simulation

Fujifilm’s expertise in color science is legendary among image makers. For more than 85 years, it has been responsible for some of the world’s most iconic photographs and movies. GFX100S gives you access to this wealth of experience at the touch of a button, powered by one of the world’s most widely acclaimed digital color processing engines. With a choice of 19 exclusive FUJIFILM Film Simulation modes, it is easy to achieve fantastic color, instantly, straight out of camera and with a new FIlm Simulation mode to explore – Nostalgic Neg. – it may just be worth it to spend a little more time here than you originally thought.

Nostalgic Neg.

Designed to recreate the look of images in old photo albums, Nostalgic Neg. produces images with rich colors in the shadows and a soft tonality through the mid-tones and highlights.

Other

As a manufacturer of cameras and photographic films for many years, Fujifilm has developed the Film Simulation modes to digitally replicate the look of film. The GFX100 allows users reproduce these colors and tones, despite its large image resolution, adding an artistic flair to images with exceptional quality.

Image Format, Size and Aspect

Making images requires flexibility. This is why GFX100S offers a wide selection of image formats and qualities. These include uncompressed and lossless compressed RAW and JPEG formats of varying image sizes, aspect ratios, and compression ratios. In-camera RAW processing provides the option of saving 8-bit or 10-bit color depth images as 8-bit or 16-bit TIFF files. It even has the ability to record a centered 36x24mm image when using a 35mm format lens with a compatible mount adapter.

Image Effects

Enhance your images with creative film-like effects. GFX100S offers Grain Effect for replicating the graininess of analog photos, Color Chrome Effect for adding deeper tonal gradation to a subject with highly saturated colors, and Smooth Skin Effect for smoothing the skin tones on portraits.

4K Movie / 10bit Color Depth

GFX100S’s large format imaging sensor isn’t just limited to still imagery. Switched to movie mode, filmmakers can create naturally cinematic footage and record richly detailed 4K/30p movies with a shallow depth-of-field, wide tonal gradation, and impressive ISO sensitivity in either 10-bit F-log or 12-bit ProRes RAW. This is all possible thanks to X-Processor 4, which also faciliates a bit rate of up to 400 Mbps, the commonly used 17:9 aspect ratio, and support for common compression codecs, like H.265 and H.264.

The full selection of all 19 Film Simulation modes are also available as well, including ETERNA, which digitally replicates Fujifilm’s legendary cine film.

Movie Recording Formats

Using GFX100S, filmmakers have the rare opportunity of being able to record 4K footage, at 16:9 and 17:9 aspect ratios, using the full width of its large format imaging sensor, which results in an imaging surface that is larger than many of the large format cinema cameras available today. This means films created with GFX100S will naturally look like they were made for the big screen, at a fraction of the budget.

Support For F-Log and HLG

GFX100S is capable of recording in 10-bit F-Log or Hybrid Gamma Log (HLG), a REC.2100 supported standard. Compared to using commonly available compression codecs, like H.264, recording footage in F-Log or HLG gives filmmakers much more flexibility in post-production as footage is brought through the color grading process and adjustments are made to luminance, color saturation, or any number of other image attributes.

SD and HDMI Output

4K/30p 10-bit output is possible whether you’re recording straight to an SD card or via GFX100S’s HDMI port. The camera’s X-Processor 4 imaging engine records 4:2:0 10-bit data to an SD card at up to 400 Mbps. *1 When H.265 codec is selected and 4:2:2 10-bit through the HDMI port, All-Intra and Long-GOP codecs are also available *2
Thanks to its robust imaging processor, GFX100S can also display footage on its LCD and an external monitor, while feeding uncompressed data straight to a recorder.

Available at 4K/29.97p, 25p, 24p or 23.98p. Requires an SD card with the video speed class of V60 or above to record at the bit rate of 400 Mbps.
All Intra can be used with following settings. DCI4K/4K 29.97p/25p/24p/23.98p 400Mbps Full HD(2048×1080) / Full HD(1920×1080) 59.94p/50p/29.97p/25p/24p/23.98p 200Mbps

RAW Recording

For maximum flexibility with image-based adjustments and color grading option, GFX100S can also record 4K/30P footage in 12-bit RAW, via HDMI, directly to an Atomos Ninja V Monitor Recorder to be recorded as Apple ProRes RAW files. This allows for all decisions about the image to be made after production, in post, free from in-camera processing.
Simultaneous output of RAW footage and footage in F-Log or Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) with a Film Simulation mode applied is also possible.
